Early Morning Visitor
Where we live, there is a lot of deer. It is not uncommon to be dodging deer on the roadways and seeing several dozen in the fields eating. What is uncommon is having a deer appear so close to our house. I spotted this doe, snacking on the lawn under our crab apple tree, about 30 feet from our house. Deer generally stay away from our house and the surrounding out buildings, since there is generally a lot of activity. Since there isn't an active dairy operation here now, I suppose they have gotten more bold. Even when I let Maggie out for her morning business, the doe just nonchalantly trotted off to a near by field. I guess we aren't so scary anymore.
