+5 Sewing
Better late than never, I learned how to sew a button today. Embarrassingly, my sewing skills are non-existent, and with 2 pairs of pants needing buttons reattached, it was time to do something about it. Turns out sewing on a button is ridiculously easy! One less thing to live in fear of... :-)
Finally getting out my hodgepodge sewing supplies tin my mother gave me a while back, and consulting YouTube, I threaded fearlessly.
Here is the video I used, very easy to follow.

Oh no, I lost a button |

Another bike ride to St. Andrews State Park this morning and I went photo-happy with the camera. I couldn't help it, too many things to document. My camera had 77 pictures from my ride. It was my first time riding there in the morning. I don't know if it was because it was morning or luck, but I had a lot more wildlife encounters than normal. And pretty close at times.
I'll bring you some peanuts next time. |
I found where many herons and egrets roost in the mornings, in a marsh in the center of the park. There were a couple dozen of them out there.
While I was admiring the herons and egrets at the lookout point, this young heron came up behind me.
And got really close to me, until I moved too much trying to get a better shot and he flew off.
Deer along the road. Florida deer are so much smaller than deer in Wisconsin.

My first alligator sighting! Hadn't seen one since we moved here last fall. We saw a few on our FL vacation in 2011 at Wakulla Springs State Park, but not since we moved here.
I think these are coots.
I liked this picture, for one, the plant is really neat. Secondly, the white sand looks like snow.

Cube World
Zachary cued me onto a game in development that has me just as excited as him for its release. It's project name is Cube World, with an official name not determined yet. Here is the link to the developer's blog for more information. It is exploration based RPG that seems to be a wonderful blend of elements from Minecraft, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Zelda, and more. Wollay the developer started the game as a hobby in 2011 and intends on releasing it "when it's done". We will wait patiently.
Game screenshot. Check out Wollay's blog for many more pics and game videos.
And when it does finally release... |

See ya
Zachary and I are transitioning back to life just the 2 of us again. My parents went home back to Wisconsin after spending the winter here on Monday. I'll be missing patrolling the beach looking for good rummage sale finds on Saturday mornings. It was great having them close by. We also parted with my nephew Seth and his girlfriend Taylor on Monday. They came down to visit for a week for Spring Break. It was fun to have them here.
Now off to the search the Internet for amusing otter pictures for fun...
